This letter is to bring to special notice the growing frequency of reckless driving in the city. Someone or the other is a victim to road rage or reckless driving every single day in this metropolis. The major cause for this is increased consumption of alcohol. Driving as well as even walking on the pavements are dangerous and prove fatal nowadays. Only people with a personality of risk-taking indulge in reckless driving. They are usually morally unethical people who do not understand or value others’ or even their own lives. Punishments such as fine, imprisonment, confiscation of license, etc. do not deter such people as increased corruption and power of money have destroyed the condition of law and order in the country. I hope this matter gains importance through a column in your newspaper.
