wat is the difference between cellulose and fungus cellulose?????

  • Cellulose is an insoluble substance that is the main constituent of plant cell walls. Cellulose is the most abundant polymer on earth. Fungi are responsible for decomposing more than 80% of the cellulose formed annually. Fungi can digest cellulose.
  • Some of the fungi have cell wall composed of cellulose, which is as same as the cellulose present in plant cells. Fungi cellulose wall was one of the evidence for fungi being closely related to plants. But some scientists believe that fungi are not related to plants as their cell wall is made up of chitin. It is the accepted criterion for defining a fungus.
