Water drops removed from wet clothes by giving tight jerk to the cloth

Inertia is a property of a body due to which it resists a change in its state of rest or of uniform motion. When we give a light jerk to a wet cloth. the water molecules start coming out of it. This is because the force of our jerk makes the cloth move to-and-fro slightly but the water molecules tend to remain at rest due to their inertia and hence removed from the cloth.
