Mosquitoes are very important in mantaining ecological balance they are significant food sources for predators higher up on the food chain like insects , amphibians, birds etc. research have shown that one bat , for example can consume about 1000 mosquitoes per hour. Larvae of fmosquitoes live in water and serves as food for fish and other water animals. 
Moreoverr the chemicals used to kill mosquitoes poison other animals also which are essential to maitain the balance of the rainforests.
