1. Do not dispose household waste into the water.
2. Do not take bath or wash cloths into the water.
3. Avoid the runoff of industrial and mining waste into the water.
4. Do not dispose agricultural chemicals, oil and automotive fluids into the sanitary sewer.  Both of them end at the river.

Water is a very important entity needed for our life. Water gets polluted when unwanted substances formed as a result of human intervention get mixed in it. This can be prevented by regulating the type of wastes that enter the water body. We should avoid taking bath, washing clothes and washing animals in water bodies.Factories and industries should be built away from water bodies and they should be asked not to let their contaminated water mix with the water in the rivers and lakes.
