What all treatments grains are subjected to under prophylatic treatment

Prophylactic treatment is done in order to prevent the grains from damaging and loss by various biotic and abiotic factors.

It includes:

Treating of godowns with insecticides and pesticides where they are stored.

Spraying of gunny bags in which they are stored with insecticides and pesticides and also their cleanliness, ventilation for grains should be maintained.

Grains to be used for seed purpose are mixed with fungicide and insecticide.

Maintaining excellent hygienic conditions all around the stacks, godowns etc. and avoiding loose spillage of grain.
