What are allosteric modulators?

Dear student,
Allosteric modulator are the substances which increases or decreases the effects of agonist at a target receptor. Positive allosteric modulator amplifies the agonist effect by inding at a site different from agonist binding site. Negative allosteric modulator decreases the effect of agonist.
