These, drugs contain a chemical related to female sex hormones having a steroid ring structure. Most of these drugs have a combination of estrogen and progesterone derivatives, which are more potent than the natural hormones. These compounds prevents ovulation. Ex: Norethindrone, Mestranol etc.
