what are aralkyl halides

Dear student!

Aralkyl Halides are the special class of organic compounds which contains the halogen elements (X= F,Cl, Br,I etc) as the functional group attached to an alkyl group but the group must contain benzene portion.

In simple words, any univalent radical derived from an alkyl radical by replacing one or more hydrogen atoms by aryl groups is called as an aralkyl halide.

For example: benzyl group are the aralkyl group and the products are aralkyl halide for as: benzyl bromide is an aralkyl halide.
