The entire poem is autobiographical. The poet talks of his own experience of coming across two roads in the yellow woods and he being able to travel only one because he could not travel both together and that has made all the difference in his life. The poet has tried to give us a lesson and tell us about how one has to make choices, what all we should consider and how the choice made would affect us in future.
