Sometimes in wool fibres have soft, cotton and ball structured like features growing on it. These have to be removed to obtain fine and good quality of wool. These are nothing but burrs.

Sometimes when you wear a sweater in winter, you notice some small fluffly ball like shapes on the sweater. These are nothing but burrs. These burrs have to be thouroughly separated before we use the wool for any purpose.
