what are cyclones? (short answer)

Cyclone is a tropical storm with winds blowing in large spiral around a relatively calm center known as 'eye'. It is formed over warm water. The eye can extend up to 50 Km and the hurricane may extend outward by hundreds of kilometer. Cyclones last from several hours to more than 2 weeks over open waters.

A natural disaster which can cause high waves due to powerful winds it is formed when water vapour changes back to liquid form as rain drops , it releases the heat it took to change into vapour  . This heat makes the air hot all around .The air tends to rise creating a low pressure area , more air rushes  there creating a low pressure area this cycle is repeated . the chain of events ends with the formation of a very low - pressure system with high - speed winds revolving around it.  :)
