What are examples of cleistogamous flower?

Solution:

Cleistogamous flowers can be described as the self-pollinated flowers which are bisexual and never open. Both male (anther) and female (stigma) reproductive structures lie close to one another. Pollen released by anther reaches the stigma without any pollinating agent. Hence, cleistogamous flower shows only  autogamy (self pollination) as there is no chance of cross-pollination in them. Examples of cleistogamous flowers are : peanut, peas and beans.
