What are factors in algebra

When the algebraic expression is written as the product of numbers or algebraic expressions, then each of these numbers and expressions are called the factors of Algebraic expressions . Consider the algebraic expression : 7 xy + 5 x . There are two terms in the above expression : 7 xy and 5 x . 7 xy = 7 \times x \times y So, the term 7 xy can be written as the product of the factors 7, x and y . 5 x = 5 \times x So, the term 5 x can be written as the product of the factors 5 and x .
