What are guilds?why were they made?
Dear Student
Guilds were powerful associations of producers that trained craftspeople, maintained control over production, regulated competition and prices, and restricted the entry of new people into the trade.
Guilds were formed by traders and craftsmen because
1. guilds provided technical training to members.
2. they organised trade activities.
3. they helped in procuring raw materials.
4. they helped in selling goods.
5. they provided credit to members.
