WHAT ARE ISODIASPHERE AND ISOSTERS
Isosters – The moelcuales having same number of atoms and electrons are called isosters.Example: CO2 and NO2 have 3 atoms and 22 electrons each.
Isodiapheres – The atoms having the same difference of neutrons and protons are called isodiapheres. In other words, isodiaspheres are nuclides that have the same neutron excess number. Example:
Difference in number of neutrons and protons:
= number of neutrons – number of protons = 144 – 90 = 54
= number of neutrons – number of protons = 146 – 92 = 54
