What are Kp and Kc ? What do they signify?

please help...

The equilibrium constant K for gaseous mixtures can be expressed as Kc or Kp.

Kc- The ratio of product of concentrations of the products and product of concentration of reactants, each concentration raised to the power equal to stoichiometric coefficient in the balanced equation at equilibrium. In other word, Kc is an equilibrium constant in terms of molar concentrations.

Kp - The ratio of product of partial pressures of the products and product of  partial pressures of reactants, each pressure raised to the power equal to stoichiometric coefficient in the balanced equation at equilibrium. In other words, Kp is an equilibrium constant in terms of partial pressures
