What are proteins? Describe the primary, secondary, tertiary and quarternary structures of protein in detail.

Proteins are macromolecules which consists of chain of amino acids.

Primary structures: this is the actual sequence of amino acid that make up the protein .

Secondary structures: these are primarily the hydrogen bonds between amino acids example include alpha helix or beta pleated sheets.

Tertiary structure: these are interaction caused by alpha helix and beta pleated sheets leading to folding of a polypeptide.

Quaternary structure: same of different polypeptide joins to form functional protein for example hemoglobin.
