What are the circumstances in which the session can be posponed?

Dear student,

1. Adjournment.
A House sitting is ended by an adjournment.
The House then reconvenes for the next sitting at the scheduled time.
Depending on the length of time provided, the adjournment can be for a few hours, days, or weeks.
Adjournment sine die occurs when a meeting is adjourned (sitting terminated) without a time limit.
Only the presiding officer of the House has the authority to adjourn sine die.
2. Prorogation
The term "prorogation" refers to the conclusion of a meeting.
The term "prorogation" refers to the conclusion of both the sitting and the session, not the dissolution of the House.
It's worth noting that the Rajya Sabha isn't disbanded because it's a permanent House; only the Lok Sabha is.
While the House is in session, the President has the authority to prorogue it.
Generally, a few days after the House is adjourned sine die by the presiding officer of the House, the President issues a notice for the session's prorogation.
All pending notifications expire when the House is prorogued.
Bills, on the other hand, are unaffected by prorogation.
Recess is the time between prorogation and reassembly.

Regards.
