What are the difference among lateral roots ,fibrous roots, aerial roots and adventitious roots??Explain also......

Dear student,
Please find below the answer:

Fibrous roots: There is no main root. All are roots equally dispersed and similar in appearance.

Lateral roots: In the tap root system, secondary roots grow from the primary/main root. These secondary/lateral roots are shallow in nature and grow horizontally. Even smaller roots grow from the lateral roots, they are called tertiary roots.

Aerial roots: They are adventitious roots that grow above the ground. They are exposed to air all the time.

Adventitious roots: Such roots that arise from other parts of the plants like stems, or leaves other than roots are called adventitious roots. They develop from the stem, leaves, or places other than radicle.

Hope this clears your doubt.
Regards.
