What are the different ways of increasing production on the same piece of land? Use examples to explain.

Different ways of increasing production on the same piece of land.

  a. Multiple cropping: It is a traditional fARming method to increase production on a given piece of land  during the year.

Ex: Jowar & bajira  in Kharif season, wheat in Rabi  season, potato is grown from Sep-Dec and one art of the land is left for sugarcane.

  b. Modern farming method: It helps in increasing the yield of the land. Using modern farming agriculture inputs.

Ex: Use of HYS seeds, pesticides chemical fertilizers help in increasing the land productivity

Ways of Increasing Production on the Same Piece of Land.

Land area under cultivation is practically fixed. Hence something should be done to increase production on the same piece of land. There are two ways of increasing farm produce on the same piece of land. These are :

(i) Multiple Cropping : It is the most common way of increasing production on a given

piece of land. Under it, more than one crop is grown on the same piece of land during the

year. Indian farmers should grow at least two main crops in a year. In India, some farmers

are growing a third crop also over the past 20 years.

(ii) Modern Farming Methods : Production on the same piece of land can also be increased by adopting modern farming methods. The Green Revolution in India is a remarkable example of it. Under modern farming, more cultivable areas should be brought under HYV seeds and irrigation. The use of simple wooden plough must be replaced by

tractors. The increasing use of farm machinery like tractors, threshers, harvesters, etc.

make cultivation faster.

Different ways to increasing production on the same piece of land are as follows;
1)Use of HYV seeds which helps to give large amount of grains from a single crop.
2)Use of modern equipments and chemical fertilisers which increases the productivity on the land.
3)Multiple cropping is process of growing 2 or more crops on the same piece of land and also increases the productivity of the land.
4)Modern farming method increases the yield of the land

Multiple cropping and use of modern farming methods are two different ways of increasing production on the same piece of land. e.g.,    (i) Multiple Cropping When more than one crop is grown on a piece of land during the year it is known as multiple cropping.   (a) It is the most common way to increase production on a given piece of land.   (b) All farmers in Palampur grow at least two main crops; many are growing potato as the third crop in the past fifteen to twenty years.   (ii) Use of Modern Farming Methods Modern farming methods also help to increase the yield per hectare.   (a) Farmers of Punjab, Haryana and Western Uttar Pradesh were the first to try modern farming methods in India.   (b) The farmers in these regions set up tube wells for irrigation and made use of HYV seeds, chemical fertilizers and pesticides in farming.   (c) Some also used farm machinery like tractors and threshers, which made plugging and harvesting faster. They were rewarded with high yields of wheat, increasing from 1300 kg per hectare to 3200 kg per hectare with HYV seeds.

Answers Multiple cropping and the use of modern farming methods are the two common ways of increasing production on the same piece of land. Multiple cropping involves growing more than one crop on a piece of land during the year. For example, farmers in the western parts of Uttar Pradesh practise multiple cropping. During the rainy season (kharif), they grow jowar and bajra. These plants are used as cattle feed. It is followed by the cultivation of potato between October and December. In the winter season (rabi), fields are sown with wheat. The other way of increasing yield is by adopting modern farming methods. Modern farming methods involve the use of high-yielding variety seeds, irrigation, and chemical fertilisers and pesticides to produce maximum output from the same piece of land. The high-yielding varieties of seeds produce much greater amounts of grain on a single plant than the traditional varieties. As a result, far larger quantities of food grains can be produced from the same piece of land.

The ways to increase the production in same piece of land are:-
                                (a) MUTIPLE CROPPING: (1) When more than one crop is grown on a piece of a land is known as multiple cropping.
                                                                            (2) It is the most common way to increase the crop production in a piece of land.
                                                                             (3) All framers in Palampur grow at least 2 crops main crop and many are growing potato as                                                                                       the third crop from past 15 to 20 years.
(b)USE OF MORDEN FRAMING METHODS: (1) Morden framing methods are also use to increase the yeild per hectare.
                                                                          (2) Framers of Punjab , Haryana and UttarPradesh were the first to try modern framing methods.
                                                                          (3) They have used fram machinery like tractors and thershers which make ploughing and                                                                                            harvesting faster.

By doing multicropping or using the modern methods of the farming ??????.
Examples ?
1). Farmers of UTTAR PRADESH do multicropping method.
2). Diverging the river , drawing water???? from the boreholes to boost the crop production.
3). Intense tilage.

based on the food quality what are the difference between organic reproduction and condition of crop production
  • 0
1.multiple cropping
2.well irrigation
3. Using high yielding seed(HYV)

Example-
1.if you grow many crops on same land then automatically production increase
2. If their is good supply water to plants/irrigation then the less plants may die wich increase in production
3. HYv seeds are good which increases production

Hope it helps ??
