what are the different waysof germination in monocot seed
Monocotyledon has only one cotyledon in its seed. Example: Wheat, Maize. They have hypogeal germination.
There are two types of germination.
- Epigeal germination: Here the cotyledons are pushed up through the soil. It is found in seeds like beans, peas etc.
- Hypogeal germination: Here the cotyledon remains below the soil. It is found in monocot seeds.
