what are the four types of clouds
pls tell it fast
Clouds are named and classified according to their shape and position in the sky. There are different types of clouds that exist at different levels and they all have different properties.
1. High level clouds: These clouds form above 6,000 meters and because the temperatures are very cold at such high altitudes, these clouds are mainly composed of ice crystals..
Examples: Cirrus clouds.
2. Mid level clouds: The base of these clouds typically appear between 2,000 to 6,000 meters. Because of their lower altitudes, they are composed primarily of water droplets but if the temperatures fall they can be composed of ice crystals.
Examples: Altocumulus clouds.
3. Low level clouds: These clouds are mostly composed of water droplets since their bases generally lie below 2,000 meters.
Examples: Stratocumulus clouds.
4. Vertically developed clouds: The most familiar is the cumulus cloud. They can grow to heights in excess of 12,000 meters.
