What are the general measures should be taken remove poverty

Following measures can be taken to reduce poverty : -
1. Increase in the rate of economic growth i.e GDP
2. Accelerating agricultural growth and increasing non-farm employment
3. Investment in human resources in the form of education, health and skill development and improvement.
4. Creating avenues for greater disbursal of credit. It can be done by improving financial inclusion.
5. Increasing efficiency and access to Public Distribution System (PDS), especially in poverty-ridden areas
6. Creating more employment through self-employment and industry-relevant skill development.
7. Providing subsidies and income in case of unemployment and sickness
8. Reducing the population through birth control programs.
