Knitting needles are also called knitting pins. They are many types of knitting pin depending upon the requirement of knitting. For e.g. circular needle, single pointed needle, double pointed needle, etc

They are generally called knitting needles but if the needles are double pointed like this

then it is called Knitting Madonnas.
