what are the strength of the novel canterville the ghost

"The Canterville Ghost" has a moral, although apparently it is a comical tale. The Ghost's three hundred years of suffering teaches us that crime does not go unpunished. The wilful manner in which Sir Simon murdered his wife and his lack of remorse, sealed his doom. He was condemned to walk the Earth in the form of a frightening scepter. However, he did receive redemption with the help of Miss Virginia. The story also teaches us that peace can be achieved only if traditional notions and modern ideas learnt to respect one another. The author uses tropes common to horror tales and successfully twists them, to provide a comic element to the story. The strength of the novel comes from a number of points. Primarily "The Canterville Ghost" is also a story of faith triumphing over sorrow and hopelessness. At the same time it is also an interesting read, as it provides number of comical instances. Wilde is able to hold the interest of his reader right till the end of the story.
