What are the three traditional handicaps in Indian Agriculture????

Some of the traditional handicaps in Indian Agriculture are

1)  High cost of farm inputs – Cost of farm inputs like fertilizer, pesticides, HYV seeds, etc have increased manifold in the recent years which is not affordable to small farmers

2)  Soil Exhaustion – Green revolution has reduced hunger in India but it has its own negative issues. Soil exhaustion is one such issue which leads to loss of nutrients in the soil through farming of the same crop over and over again.

3)  Depletion of fresh ground water table – Due to extensive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, irrigation is carried on by using ground water table excessively. If this condition persists, states which practice green revolution would face water scarcity in the future
