Solar energy is a very clean form of energy and is available in plenty, but there are a few disadvantages

(1) It is not very efficient to use, the power produced is less compared to fossil fuels.

(2) It is very expensive to install and maintain.

(3) It works on the availability of sun, which is not possible every time (night or cloudy weather)

(4) The equipment is very cumbersome and difficult to handle.
