What are valves? What is the function of valves in heart??

Dear Student,

A valve is a membranous structure present in a hollow organ. It folds or closes to prevent the return flow of the body fluid passing through it. The valves present in between the auricles and ventricles are meant to prevent the backflow of blood from the ventricles to auricles. These also form the passage for blood to pass from the auricle to ventricles.

Hope this answer helps.

Cheers!

Valves are the part of heart. It is responsible for allowing only oxygenated blood into the body and stoping the deoxyganeted blood to flow into the body.
