What are zymogen cells and what are there functions

Solution

The zymogen cell is a cell in the stomach that releases pepsinogen and chymosin. Zymogen cells are also known as a chirf cell or peptic cells.
Function is the release of gastric enzymes. Pepsinogen is activated into the digestive enzyme pepsin when it comes in contact with acid produced by gastric parietal cells. This then aids in digestion.
