what causes and drive the movements of planets?

Dear student,
Please find below the answer:

Planets move and spin because of the way they were formed. As we know that our solar system was formed about 4.6 billion years ago when a huge cloud of gas and dust started to collapse under their own gravity. Since the cloud collapsed, they started spinning. Few materials within this cloud gathered into a swirling eddy and as a result, they shaped into planets. Since the planets are formed, they continue this spinning action. This process is similar to the spinning skater when he/she pulls in their arms to spin faster. So, as the material assembled in more closely to form a planet such as Earth, the substance spun faster and the Earth keeps on spinning because there are no any forces acting on it to stop it from spinning.

Hope the answer made sense to you.
Regards.
