What decisions are taken by the Gram Panchayat ? Do you think it is necessary for them to take these decisions?

The Gram Panchayat takes decisions to fulfill the needs of people who live in the area covered by a Panchayat. Yes, it is necessary for them to take it's decisions as it's their duty to fulfill the needs and necessities of the area covered by them like, solving water problems, checking the list of people below the poverty line and solving conflicts.
It is also a Panchayat's duty to be answerable to people as, they are the ones who elected them and and the proceedings by the Gram Panchayat shall be approved by the Gram Sabha

Gram panchayat is the legislative body at rural level. It looks after every small and big issues in the villages like shortage of water/electricity,regarding the farmers etc. It has to be organised atleast twice a year meeting known as Gram sabha where all the issues are discussed. Small disputes can also be resolved here.
