what did Babasaheb Ambedkar said about fundamental rights

Dear Student,

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was the Chairman of Drafting Committee of India’s Constituent Assembly. He is remembered for his struggle for justice to the untouchables, depressed classes of the Indian society who were not considered fit to be touched and were treated unevenly. The draft Constitution prepared by him provided for fundamental rights for example equality before law, of equal opportunities, against exploitation etc, to a large extent were adopted by the Constituent Assembly. His concepts were much ahead of that time in the whole world, Dr Ambedkar also believed that the responsibility of the legislature is not just to provide fundamental rights but also and rather, more importantly, to safeguard them which is the reason why he declared the right to constitutional remedies as "the heart and soul" of the Indian constitution.

Regards.
