d. ​In 1850, the British passed  a new law to promote conversion to charistanity. This law allowed Indians who had converted to Christianity to inherit the property of his ancestors.
e. Common people felt that this way Britsih were destroying Indian culture and tradition and they did not approve of practises of Christian missionaries.
f. On the hand, there was a section of socio religious reformers who did not participate in the revolt as they supported modern western education and felt that it would make Indians rational , scientific and outlook in their approach and would end many superstitious practises of India.
