The narrator, 'Marga Minco' in the story 'The Address' resolved to forget the address 'Number 46, Marconi Street'. The narrator visited Mrs. Dorling's house with the intension to collect her mother's belongings, in the hope to bring back with them the memories and remember the warmth they carried. In her second visit to the address, she realised that the 'things' no longer serve the intended purpose. Their value is lost when one sees them in a different surrounding. She also realised that they were no longer of use to her, considering the place where she lived. So, she decided to forget the address which reminded her of a tragic past.
