what do u mean by accountability? Is it orgine from superior or subordinate?pls explain accountability with suitable examples

Dear student,

Accountability means answerability. It is an obligation of an individual to perform the work assigned to him and report it to his superior. Accountability cannot be delegated.
Accountability arises from responsibility. It flows upwards i.e from subordinate to superior.
For example:- Marketing head gives an employee a task of completing a project, and he knows that if he does not finish it on time he will be liable for it, so the employee is accountable to marketing head.

Accountability can be defined as taking or being assigned responsibility for something that you have done or something you are supposed to do.

For example :- When an employee is given the task of making sure a project goes right and knows she will be blamed if it doesn't, she can also be said to have accountability for the project.
