What do u mean by Large Electronegativity Difference? Please explain it to me.

Dear student, Electronegativity difference between atoms, tells about the type of bond they have. In large Electronegativity difference the Electronegativity of one atom is larger than the other. So, the electron pair is dragged towards the atoms having larger Electronegativity. Atom with less Electronegativity has almost lost control of its electron, and atom with higher Electronegativity has almost got complete control over both electrons. In this case an ionic bond is formed. Electronegativity difference for ionic bond is usually greater than about 1.5. Examples of compound have ionic bond are NaCl, LiBr etc. Regards,

No?electronegativity difference?between two atoms leads to a pure non-polar covalent bond. A small?electronegativity difference?leads to a polar covalent bond. A?large electronegativity difference?leads to an ionic bond.
