what do u mean by reactivity series of metals?

The reactivity series (also known as the activity series) is a series in which metals arranged in the decreasing order of reactivity. Thus the most reactive metal is placed at the top of the series while the least reactive metal is placed at the bottom of the series.

This series is prepared by performing displacement reactions between various metals and their salt solutions. The reactivity series is given as follows:

the reactivity series or activity series is an empirical series of metals, in order of "reactivity" from highest to lowest. It is used to summarize information about the reactions of metals with acids and watersingle displacement reactions and the extraction of metals from their ores.

Reactivity series of metals also known as activity series of the metals is a series in which metals are arranged in the order from most reactive to the least reactive metal. Hydrogen is in the middle. Left side contains the more reactive metal and right side contains less reactive metals...

An arrangement of metals in decreasing order of reactivity is called the reactivity series of metals.Hydrogen though is a non - metal is also placed in the series because it also forms positive ions like metals.

this is an arrangement of the metals in accordance to their reactiveness. it is a list of metal arranged in the order of their decreasing reactivity

Going from bottom to top the metals:

  • increase in reactivity;
  • lose electrons more readily to form positive ions;
  • corrode or tarnish more readily;
  • require more energy (and different methods) to be separated from their ores;
  • become stronger reducing agents.
  • the reactivity series is as follows
