What do you know about the reign of King Tut?

Dear student,

Here is the answer:

Tutankhamen's father was Akhenaten and grandfather was AmenothepIII. Akhenaten was a great king who introduced sun-worship or praying to Aten. Both Akhenaten and his father patronized the arts. During their rules art and architecture flourished in Egypt. Temples of the various gods of Egypt was also constructed.

Tut was the last heir of a powerful Egyptian dynasty. He ruled Egypt as pharaoh for 10 years. He was a teenager when he died about 3,300 years ago. The reason of his early death still remains a mystery.

During his reign Tutankhamun reversed Akhenaten’s reforms. He revived the worship of the god Amun and restored Thebes as a religious center. He also changed the end of his name to reflect his loyality to the creator god Amun.

British Archaeologist Howard Carter found the boy pharaoh's tomb. King Tut's mummy was found with glittering goods; precious collars, inlaid necklaces and bracelets, rings, amulets, a ceremonial apron, sandals, sheaths for his fingers and toes and the iconic inner coffin and mask — all made of pure gold.
