Dear Student,

a. The term frontier refers to demarcated geographical area or boundary
b. The term, was largely used by the Americans after their conquest of land, but was interpreted in varied ways
c. As the natives moved,  the  boundaries where they reached  was  depicted the outer line of European American settlement.
d. Frontier came to referred to the boundary of the state till the place where Europeans had reached and had expanded.
e.  It came to be associated with  a land of great opportunities and promise for cultivation and exploitation which the European explorers wanted to tap 
f.  Most of this movement  was from east to west.
g. It was only when the expansion ended in 1892, the term was no longer used.
