Prashasti
They were the special kind of inscriptions written to praise the king.
It is a Sanskrit word which means 'in praise of'.
The Prashasti of Samudragupta's was composed in very long sentences.
For Example,
Samudragupta's Prashasti tells us that the Poet praised the king in glowing terms like as a warrior, as a king who won victories in battle, wh has learned and the best of poets.
