What does magical realism means?

Dear Student, 

It is a genre of literature in which magical elements and characters are added to the real world. Therefore, magical realism tries to depict the real world using magical elements or characters. 
Eg: The story 'Alice in the Wonderland' uses the magical realism style of writing.
