What does the given stanza mean( the ant and the cricket) ..... especially the last line

Thus ending, he hastily lifted the wicket, And out of the door turned the poor little cricket. Folks call this a fable. I'll warrant it true:
Some crickets have four legs, and some have two.

Dear Student,
Given below is the answer to your question.

Wicket refers to a small door or gate. The ant opened the wicket to turn out the cricket and out of the door the poor little cricket was forced out. According to the poet, some people may call this a fable but he is convinced that this is a reality. He also adds that some crickets have four legs while others have two. The narrator is linking the fable to real life saying that some humans(four legs) have the same attitude as the cricket (that is, not being wise and saving for the future).
