When we say that "secretion of mucus helps in adhering the waste ", what does it mean here ? Please explain.........

Adhering meaning is basically sticking fast to a surface or substance.

here it mean that secretion of mucus stick to the undigested food and become slimy so that they go smoothly out of body through anus....
