What does the the underlined scentence mean? And what are the other elements likewise?

Dear student,
Please find below the solution to the asked query

Essential mineral elements are those minerals which are necessary for the survival of plant. There are total 17 such elements.
Some of these elements affect the activity of enzymes. They either activate the enzymes or inhibit their activity. For example, two enzymes- RuBisCo (ribulose bisphosphate carboxylase-oxygenase) and phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase, involved in carbon fixation are activated by Mg2+. Magnesium also activate enzymes involved in respiration. Similarly, nitrogenase enzyme involved in nitrogen metabolism is activated by Mo.
Some of the other elements which acts as activator are- Cu2+ (activate the enzymes involved in redox reactions), Zn2+ (activate carboxylase enzymes), Mn2+ (activate enzymes of photosynthesis, respiration, nitrogen metabolism etc.), Ca2+ (activate alpha-amylase for hydrolysis of starch), K+ (activate enzymes responsible for formation of peptide bond during protein synthesis).
