What does the word development mean in civics in history and in economics
Dear Student,
a. Development is a very broad and comprehensive concept. Development in the economics, would not only mean rise in per capita income and growth in the economy but also implies leading a good quality life where individuals develop themselves to the fullest. It would include providing good education, health facilities etc.
b. For country's growth and progress it is important that fruits of development must reach out to everybody.
c. It must be inclusive in nature and its benefits must be enjoyed by the community at large.
d. Development must bring about balanced regional development.
e. It must bridge the gap between the rich and the poor, it must bring about employment opportunities in rural and urban ares both.
f. Development in Political science would be associated with basic rights and liberties to be enjoyed by all. It would mean that rights are available to all to develop oneself to the fullest.
g. Development would also mean that political system is more participative, responsive to the needs of the people
h. It would mean socio economic freedom, just , fair society wherein there exist equitable distribution of resources
i. Development would also imply good governance where system is accountable and transparent
j. The notion of development in history implies evolution of society and how it has progressed and changed over a period of time
k Here development would also mean development in the varied fields and how that has transformed society at the present.
