WHAT HAPPENS INSIDE THE ATOMS OF GLASS RODS WHEN WE RUB SILK CLOTH TO ROD

In an atom, the electrons posses negative charge and they occupy the region outside the nucleus whereas the protons posses positive charge and are found inside the nucleus. When a glass rod is rubbed with a silk cloth, then the glass rod donates an electron to the silk cloth and the glass rod becomes positively charged. Hencefore the silk cloth gains an electron from the glass rod and becomes negatively charged.
