What happens when a passenger tosses a coin while moving in a circular path?

Dear Student,
There are three cases that can happen:-
1. Motion is uniform
2. Motion is accelerated
3. Motion is retarded

1. If the passenger is moving at a constant speed, the coin, also being moving with the passenger initially, would fall back to where it was tossed from.

2. If the passenger is accelerating, the speed of the passenger would increase while the coin, whose speed would remain the same as before, would be in the air.

So, when the coin will reach back towards the ground, the passenger would have moved further ahead than the coin and the coin would fall behind the person who has tossed the coin.

3. Similar to part 2, the coin will fall ahead of the person as the train and the person would have slowed down but the coin would have kept the same velocity.

Dear student,
The answer is given below :-
A passenger in a moving train tosses a coin upward which falls behind him. It implies that the motion of?the train is accelerated . It happens because by the time the coin remains in the air, its velocity reduces and it falls behind the passenger.
Hope it will help you
