What happens when grapes get fermented ?
When grapes are fermented, alcohol is produced.
Glucose from grapes undergo fermentation, and reaction is given below:
C6H12O6 2C2H5OH + 2CO2
Depending on the concentration of the alcohols, various beverages are made.
Wine = 12-15% alcohol, it does not have CO2.
(Red wine is made from red grapes while white wine is made from white grapes)
Beer = 5-7%
Whisky = 40- 45 %
