What I want should not be confused

With total inactivity.

Life is what it is about:

I want no truck with death.

(i) With whom does the poet not want to deal with?

The poet does not want to engage with those who prepare green wars, wars with gas, fire or welcome a victory without any survivors. These are the people who bring wanton destruction upon the earth and the poet believes that it would be a futile exercise in trying to talk them out of it. He wants to have nothing to do with those who walk about easily without their conscience getting tainted by the thought of having harmed their brethren.
